NYT Editorial Illustration

This Illustration was done for my Senior Illustration class, emulating a freelance opportunity to create an illustration for a New York Times editorial article. I struggled to find an idea at the beginning of this, drafting up tons of sketches that simply did not drive home the point of the article. This image has to catch the eye of a potential reader, but also communicate a whole articles worth of information. My go to when stuck in a rut is to look at Art History and images I can either draw inspiration of or make reference to.
